Evolence® - (Bovine Collagen)
As of November 2009 Johnson and Johnson has ceased production and marketing of Evolence Collagen filler.
Evolence was a relatively new FDA approved dermal filler made of natural bovine collagen. Evolence was offered by the Center for Laser Surgery, however in proprietary split-face studies we found that Evolence was markedly inferior to the existing hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm in both volume restoration per cc, post-injection feel, and duration of correction. While many cosmetic practices heavily promoted and pushed Evolence due to extremely aggressive pricing by the manufacturer, we did not recommend this product due to our feeling that it was significantly inferior to other dermal fillers currently available, and we are committed to only providing the safest and most effective products and treatments to our patients.
