Trivex is a procedure used to remove more extensive varicose veins covering many areas of the legs. This procedure is performed as an outpatient in our surgical center and requires special probes and equipment that allow us to visualize the veins under the skin and remove them. Recovery involves using a compression bandage on the leg for three days followed by the use of support hose for a week. Trivex is very effective and causes minimal discomfort. Bruising is usually present from removing multiple veins and resolves over several weeks.
