Vein removal is accomplished by Phlebectomy or Trivex.

Phlebectomy is accomplished under local anesthesia in the office. Veins are located on examination and the skin is marked with ink over the veins. Local anesthesia is instilled and the veins are teased out of the skin through very tiny incisions. Small areas are treated at a time, usually covering the size of an adult’s hand. Healing occurs over a few days and is aided by compression stockings.
