Dr Adrian has more than 25 years experience in the treatment of the entire spectrum of facial acne scars, surgical scars and scars secondary to trauma or auto accidents. Acne scars can appear as depressed or uneven areas of the face, small holes in the skin called “ice pick” scars or raised red or pink scars. Our treatment of these types of scars involves the use of a wide variety of lasers, innovative filler materials, surgical punch grafting and sub scission providing a multi faceted approach to this serious problem. We have observed that acne scars often require a combination of both Erbium and Carbon Dioxide resurfacing in order to maximize results. Since 1993 we have offered new laser treatments for acne scars at the Center for Laser Surgery. UltraPulse and Erbium-YAG laser resurfacing can markedly improve acne scars and have replaced dermabrasion in the treatment of this condition. In addition we have a wide variety of new filler materials such as Restylane, Cosmoplast and New-Fill to help raise depressed scars for a smoother skin appearance. Surgical techniques such as punch grafting and surgical undermining of scars called sub scission can also help improve results when used in combination with other procedures.
