The UltraPulse® CO2 laser emits extremely high infrared energy delivered in very short pulses, causing immediate heating of small predictable volumes of tissue. The almost instantaneous heating of tissue prevents unwanted heat diffusion from the target, which reduces or eliminates the chance of scarring associated with the use of older CO2 lasers.

Dr. Adrian was one of the first physicians in the world to perform laser resurfacing in 1993. His published tissue studies serve as the foundation for the current use of resurfacing lasers. Tissue studies performed by Dr. Adrian support the concept that treatment with the UltraPulse® Laser induces new collagen formation in the dermis post operatively over a period of 3 to 6 months enhancing the effects of the laser resurfacing procedure.

| Erbium: YAG lasers emit extremely short pulses
of infrared energy (2940nm). Tissue studies published by our center
show that these lasers remove very precise thin layers of skin or
tissue with each pass (pulse). In effect this laser behaves similar
to a dermabrasion device with significantly more control in the removal
of skin layers. Erbium lasers are ideal for treating acne scars,
mole removal tattoo removal and rhinophyma. In fact we use these
lasers whenever we need precise skin planning type excisions.
Conditions, which respond to Carbon Dioxide and Erbium lasers, include upper and lower lip lines (smokers lines), under eye wrinkles and loose skin, diffuse facial wrinkles acne scars and diffuse facial sun damage. In addition congenital pigmented nevi, moles, certain tattoos, and nevus sebaceous have also proven responsive to these lasers. Sweat gland tumors around the eyes called syringomas also respond quite well to laser resurfacing. Rhinophyma, a disfiguring overgrowth of nose skin secondary to acne rosacea can be treated using a combination of CO2 and Erbium lasers with excellent cosmetic results.
Dr. Adrian has extensive experience treating a group of diffuse skin keratinization disorders showing warty skin overgrowth (systemized epidermal nevi). Carbon dioxide and Erbium laser treatment of this condition has often provided remarkable results by removing and flattening these disfiguring lesions.
