Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Squamous cell carcinoma is the second most common type of skin cancer. This type of skin cancer is typically found on sun-exposed skin. Generally it starts as a crusted patch that refuses to heal. Biopsy and surgical excision is the standard of treatment because these tumors can recur if not fully excised. If left untreated squamous cell carcinomas can become locally destructive, however rarely metastasize.
