Risks and Complications
Almost every patient treated will experience post treatment redness, swelling, itching, minor burning and occasional bruising immediately after injection. Swelling may last longer often several days and uncommonly several weeks. Increased pigment or pinkness at the injection site can also be seen with rapid resolution in most instances. In addition patients may feel slight nausea or lightheadedness after treatment. We ask that you remain onsite to relax for 15 minutes after treatment to ensure your safety.
Some patients note nodules at the treatment site, which may persist for a few weeks. Although you may feel these nodules you or your friends will not see them and they will usually disappear in a few days or weeks. Rarely, blisters, skin necrosis and scarring can result from improper injection which is almost always the result of lack of experience with injection into the skin rather than fat. |
