After Your Procedure

Almost every patient treated will experience post-op redness, swelling, itching, minor burning and occasional bruising immediately after injection. Swelling may last longer often several days and uncommonly several weeks. Post treatment Tylenol is allowed however we discourage the use of anti-inflammatory medications such as Aspirin, Aleve, or Advil since these may interfere with inflammatory mediated fat destruction which is the means by which localized fat is eliminated.

On occasion an ace wrap or mild compression garment such as Spanyx or control top pantyhose are recommended for comfort. In addition some patients may feel slight nausea or lightheadedness post treatment. We ask that you remain onsite to relax for 15-30 minutes after treatment to insure your safety.

Some patients note nodules at the treatment site, which may persist for a few weeks. Although you may feel these nodules you or your friends will not see them and they will usually disappear in a few days or weeks. Rarely, blisters, skin necrosis and scarring can result from improper injection, which almost always results from lack of experience with placement of the product in the skin rather than fat.
